The newest ship of logistics support «Elbrus» is built and already functioning. CFD-software FlowVision was used as a virtual hydro-channel and wind tunnel for checking the design of the hull form. The vessel was built at the shipyard «Severnaya Verf». The vessel «Elbrus» went to sea on May 15, 2017.
Specialists of the company DigitalMarine and JSC "Spetssudoproekt" conducted studies of the contours of the marine logistics support ship of the Russian Navy project 23120 type «Elbrus» with the use of the CFD-software package FlowVision. Also, the flow of the above-water body of a vessel with deck superstructure was examined to determine the operating conditions of the helicopter above the deck (analogue of tests in wind tunnel).

Ships of 23120 project (general designer of JSC "Spetssudoproekt", chief designer A.V. Saveliev) are designed for loading, storage, transportation and transfer of dry cargo to the shore, ships, submarines and towing vessels, for providing assistance to the crews of ships in distress.
